Ear irrigation
This involves the use of an electronic water irrigator. The machine involved stores water in a reservoir unit and water is pumped through a hand-held nozzle into your ear. The water dislodges, breaks down and washes the wax out of the ear.
This is only a safe method if the person conducting the procedure has had a previous view of your ears and knows what your healthy ear should look like.
Please note ear irrigation is unsafe if you have or have had:
-
Ear infections
-
Discharge or mucus
-
Holes in your eardrum
-
Previous ear surgery.
