The Art of Hearing is a Care quality Commission (CQC)regulated provider

What does this mean?
The CQC are an independent regulator of health and social care in England. Their purpose is to make sure that health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care.

See more information here: https://www.cqc.org.uk/about-us/our-purpose-role/who-we-are

As an Audiologist / Audiology Practice / Hearing Aid
Dispenser we do not normally require CQC regulation for
the activities we provide to adults. However, we do require CQC regulation when seeing people 19 years of age and under.

The CQC outline that if we perform any Diagnostic or
Screening procedures by means of Physiological Measurements on audio-vestibular systems (i.e. hearing or balance assessments and treatments) of people aged
19 or under (which have not been arranged by a school or 16 to 19 academy), this is deemed by law to be an activity which requires regulation by CQC.

We are proud to say that The Art of Hearing Ethos and Values link directly with the CQC values and fundamental standards and we will ensure we use this badge to continually monitor and improve our services.

and provide emotional support.
Principle 5: To tailor information to each person.

About Ms Aarti Makan

Ms Aarti Makan, the founder and Director of The Art of Hearing, is a highly qualified professional, with vast experience in the field of audiology. She has a dual qualification in both Audiology and Speech-Language Therapy.

She is a clinician with a portfolio career in education and training, clinical work, quality assessment and service delivery accreditation.  This can be viewed as a competitive advantage relative to hearing aid dispensers in retail stores.

Specialised testing

Access to valuable assessments that are not usually conducted in other high street retail stores.

At the Art of Hearing we commit to conducting a comprehensive assessment of your hearing taking into account your individual needs including your physical and mental wellbeing, and your work, hobby and social environments. In addition to taking our time to explore your hearing difficulties, you will have access to specialised tests called tympanometry and speech testing. These tests will ensure you have the best personalised solution to your hearing difficulties.
